Other Projects

Hamptons International Film Festival

In 2018 I was part of the Hamptons International Film Festival’s Screenwriters Lab, which is an intimate gathering that takes place each spring in East Hampton, New York. The Lab develops emerging screenwriting talent by pairing established writers and creative producers with up-and-coming screenwriters (chosen by HIFF in collaboration with key industry contacts).

I was also part of the screening committee for the Hamptons International Film Festival, where I screened, reviewed, and evaluated narrative and documentary shorts and feature films.

 Made in NY Series Competition

I participated as a reader for the Made in NY Series Competition. This is a competition launched by the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) and the Brooklyn College's Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema. This is a citywide scriptwriting contest highlighting stories by, for, or about women in New York City. Aimed at addressing the underrepresentation of women in the film and television industries, this initiative invites New York City-based writers to submit original 26-minute pilot scripts.

Skirball Center for the Performing Arts

NYU's Skirball Center for the Performing Arts is the premier venue for the presentation of cultural and performing arts events for New York University community and lower Manhattan. I was part of the Skirball Center while I was studying my MA at NYU. During my time at Skirball, I created engaging content for multi-channel social media outreach to communicate to Skirball Center patrons and expand its audience base. I also planned and implemented outreach targeting to diverse members of the NYU Community. Finally, I wrote and planned weekly newsletter with more than 60,000 Subscribers.

Los IMAS

From 2010 to 2013, I produced and led the press and publicity department of the Indie-O Music Awards (Los IMAS), the only awards ceremony that acknowledges the independent music landscape in Mexico. Some artists are now internationally acclaimed thanks to creative efforts such as Los IMAS, including Latin Grammy winners and nominees Carla Morrison, Hello Seahorse and Bajofondo.
